Hi! I’m Brydie, mummy of two delightful boys, Finn (7) and Cooper (4). I've been married to Richard for a fair few years now (I was a mere 20 years old when we tied the knot!) and we live in the beautiful sunshine capital of New Zealand; Marlborough. 

​

We all have individual food requirements, some of which are not negotiable, while others we can occasionally flex. Finn has a cow's milk protein allergy and various intolerances including gluten. Cooper's symptoms are much milder but he also reacts to nuts, which was a bit of a spanner in the works when we first found out!

In 2019 my world was turned upside down due to ill-health. After several months of malaise that really cramped my style (including shingles, flu, tummy bug, sciatica and the finale - joint pain in my toes and jaw that was so severe I could barely walk or chew), I began a desperate journey to wellness. Eventually I was diagnosed with dactylitis and psoriatic arthritis. Fortunately I had heard of the auto-immune paleo diet so I did a bit of digging and decided to give it a go. I'll admit, it is pretty restrictive in the beginning (eggs, grains, soy, nightshades, nuts, seeds including seed based spices and dairy are all excluded) however it's only temporary until symptoms start improving. I was also fortunate enough to get a Thermomix not long after starting the diet. It had such an incredible impact on our life that I became a consultant after just a few weeks and have not looked back.

We prepare pretty much all our food at home, from scratch, using real ingredients that we trust. I hope that the recipes I share might be of some use to you and your family, whether you have multiple food restrictions or simply want to include more whole food in your diet.
